Organizations exist to produce some kind of outcome in the world and if an organization is unclear about what that outcome is that they are there to create then they will disappear.
Are you in danger of disappearing? Are you clear about why you exist? What outcome are you producing?
McDonald's produces quick food at a cheap price. Starbucks produces an experience of friendship and connection between people. The Bay, Target, Wal-Mart all exist to get low cost goods into the hands of the common people. So, what are you producing as a corporation? What outcomes do you exist to materialize for human beings?
