How To Easily Do Self Development

In the Christian bible, the book of Matthew, Chapter 22, verses 36-39 (New Living Translation): a man comes to Jesus and ask him...

“Teacher, which is the most important commandment in the law of Moses?”

Jesus replied, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’

What's great about this commandment is it reveals a principle of life. Namely that how we treat others is a reflection of exactly how we treat and think of ourselves.

There's no escaping it. A person who doesn't love himself cannot love someone else. It's not in his nature to do so. Conversely, the opposite is true.

What's really great about this truth is we can work on our self love by observing how we are being in life. When we snap at a co-worker or spouse, when we are dishonest in that business transaction, or leave something out of a conversation and justify it to ourselves, this is an indication that we don't respect or love our self.

The first step to loving our self is to choose to fully accept our self for everything that we are and everything that we are not because love is a function of a acceptance.
