You AND Me World...

“We can choose to live in a ‘you or me’ world, or in a ‘you and me world”. – Werner Erhard

(Happy Valentines Day! -I think this post is just perfect for this day!)

It's powerful to think that we have the ability to create in our businesses a place where people can have their lives altered -for the good -everyday.

Choosing to live from the idea that we actually live in a "you and me" world will touch, move, and inspire your employees to aim higher and reach farther than they've ever before. It's because as human beings we all want to belong to something greater. And we all love a "shared experience."

All of us.

I believe we were made for that. To share experiences.

Also, there is nothing like making a contribution to someone. Last week I went to a networking meeting in the morning with about 10 other business owners. Three quarters of the way through the meeting I got up, went over to the till and paid for everyone's meal (without them knowing!) -it was SO FUN!

I don't even care if they liked what I did or not because for me it was exciting and wonderful to just be a contribution to these business associates. It was the best $150.00 I've spent in a long time!

Most of them couldn't believe it and I made a major impression on all of them. "Who does that?" one person said out loud, then my financial planner (who was there) answered "George Watson -that's who!"

I was coming from a "you and me" world. I was thinking how can I really let these people know how much I love them and care about them? Then to buy their breakfast just occurred to me -so I did it!

Thinking from a "you and me" world does that. It causes you and I to think in terms of what can I do to help or contribute to someone. And I WANT TO DO THIS so that this world works for all of us -and not just works for me.

It causes us to think in terms of others' misfortunes and difficulties -it says "you are not alone going through this -I'm right here with you!"

It also says, "When you win in life I win too!" So it's not just support for the negative circumstances that occur -it is also about being happy when others are happy! It's true community.

Reinvent yourself today as someone who ONLY thinks from and takes action from a "you AND me" world/paradigm!
