The Power Of Being Yourself

Sometimes you really don't know what to do or what to say. That's just PERFECT!

I was leading a discussion last week for a friend of mine in a Bible College. It was a program about helping people with their crisis'. So one of the students asks me a question that I had no idea how to answer.

Usually this throws most people or they attempt to answer anyways (like a politician) and end up looking like a fool. My solution? I said "I have no idea what your answer is. Isn't that just perfect? After all we are all here to learn right? So let's go to work on this question..."

No pressure. No looking like the fool. And I created extraordinary trust with these students. I've never gotten so many emails and thank-you's as I did the following weekend. It is because I "showed up" real and was straight with them in my communication.

I wasn't trying to be someone that I wasn't -I was just being me.
